Building Bridges at Yale: Forging cross-cultural connections to make a difference in mental health and gender equality
Building Bridges is a student organization that started at Yale University in 2008 to involve college students in pooling educational resources and capital to teach disadvantaged children in rural China. We cooperate with peers from top U.S. and Chinese universities to raise awareness among students everywhere about China’s current state of education and society, through mental health, gender education, and cultural diversity. Opportunities with Building Bridges engage the diversity of experiences among American and Chinese college and high school students, migrant children in Beijing, earthquake survivors in Sichuan, cross-cultural NGOs, and other interest groups.
